Mental health continues to be ignored
It is likely that the COVID-19 pandemic will be the cause of more long-lasting mental health challenges than physical health challenges. From lockdowns to forced vaccinations and masking, children and adults have been through a lot over the past two and a half years, and, unfortunately, this fall and winter will likely continue the avoidable trend.
A government big enough to give you everything you want is a government big enough to take from you everything you have.

Obsession with Bad News
Not only are people continuing to mentally struggle through the COVID-19 pandemic, we are also living through a time in which only bad news sells newspapers and website advertising dollars, and because many people have become desensitized due to a constant barrage of bad news stories, media outlets are producing even more shockingly negative news stories in an effort to continue selling newspapers and earning ad revenue.
If you're wondering why many people are becoming mentally unstable in our country, look no further than the obsession with constantly negative news stories, shows, etc. Humans can't even watch nature shows these days without being made to hate themselves for impacts to wildlife and the environment. The constant negativity and bad news obsession needs to end, so everyone in our country can receive some good news for a change and potentially regain much-needed hope.
I thank God that my two-year-old daughter has, so far, managed to avoid the COVID-19 insanity and I pray that the government's botched response to the pandemic ends soon. She’s only been untouched from the mental and physical abuse due to her young age.
It breaks my heart knowing that so many children have been negatively impacted by governmental and societal overreach and overreaction. Only years from now will we fully understand what being afraid of breathing in the air without a mask does to a child's development into adulthood.
We must also support parental rights if we are going to protect our children and the future of our country. Topics that are not age appropriate or developmentally appropriate for kids should not be taught in school.
Mental health effects from not having a choice
A significant number of Americans wanted to go right out and get jabbed as many times as possible, and that's great for them, but others did not want the jabs and have been forced to make difficult and stressful decisions over the past year. Get the jab or lose the job, or, get the jab or be tested multiple times a week as punishment for not getting the jab. These decisions come with mental health consequences. Mental health suffers on both ends; hating a group of people due to their lack of vaccination card is not healthy and being ostracized by people for not having a complete vaccination card is not healthy.
Taking cues from government officials, a significant portion of America believes that the COVID-19 unvaccinated are a subhuman species, full of mutating viruses. In reality, America is made up of people with many different life experiences, comfort levels and beliefs.
I'm old enough to remember when we were all encouraged to celebrate our differences. Now it seems more and more like we must all act the same, believe the same and wear the same kinds of masks, or else.

Common sense over compliance is desperately needed
The last couple of years didn’t need to be so bad. Common sense must return if Americans are going to make it through this fall and winter. The long-term mental health of innocent people is at stake.
